Trying To Get Pregnant? 3 Quick Tips.

Are you currently trying to get pregnant? If so, here are three quick tips to keep in mind. I’ll explain each in more detail below.
1. Know When You Are Ovulating.
2. Stress Less.
3. Quit Trying So Hard.
Tip#1: Know when you are ovulating. You’d be surprised to know how many women I talk to in the clinic who are trying to get pregnant but have no idea when they are ovulating. If you are one of these women, don’t stress out–just know that you need to take steps to better understand your body’s natural fertility signals.
One of the quickest ways to know when you are ovulating, is to look for Fertile Cervical Mucus (FCM). Fertile Cervical Mucus is vaginal mucus that has a quality to it similar to raw egg whites. It is clear, stretchy, thick and it is the trumpeter of your body’s fertility levels. When cervical mucus is fertile, you need to get busy trying to conceive, because the “peak” for women’s fertility each month is a fairly narrow window.
You can monitor fertility with basal body temperature thermometers, and body temperature charting. You can also use a mini-ovulation microscope to actually examine your cervical mucus to see if you are “ferning” (a term associated with a fern-like pattern that show up in FCM).
I get into a lot of detail on this topic in the Whole Body Fertility book, because there is a lot to talk about when it comes to recognizing your FCM.
Tip #2: Stress Less.
This tip is an over-arching theme when it comes to the whole body fertility approach. Stress signals to the body that you are under some kind of threat. This could be a real or imagined threat. If this threat becomes constant or chronic (such as work related stress, or worrying about not getting pregnant), then your body begins to clamp down on your reproductive potential, because historically, stressful times were not good times to bring new life into the world.
Think of stressful times humans have endured (and continue to endure), and think of how they impact fertility. For example, drought, famine, war–all of these are real stresses and real threats to human life. Your body knows this and it also knows that any of these times are not good times to bring new life into the world, so fertility drops.
Your body is not wired any differently now that it was in the days of the caveman (0r cavewoman). Stress is still stress, and your body doesn’t like stress when it comes to getting pregnant.
Tip#3: Quit Trying So Hard.
This seems to work against the idea that if you want something badly enough, and work hard, you will get it. Not always the case with pregnancy. The more you want to get pregnant, the more you stress out when you are not conceiving. The result can be getting caught up in the stress-loop of tip #2.
Sometimes the best approach to conceiving is taking a break, forgetting about trying, and focusing instead on taking proactive steps to balance your mind, body and spirit, which in turn will improve fertility.
You will find these and countless other tips in the Whole Body Fertility book. If you are on the fence about purchasing the book, just remember it comes with a 60 day money back guarantee — so you can run it through its paces and see if it is right for you. It’s worked for many other couples, and it can work just as well for you, too. Give it a try!
